Picture of the Week

This was taken on one of my trips to NYC, by myself, I think. It was during Thanksgiving maybe two or three years ago. Why do I like this pic? Because it's sorta eau de New York captured, in other words, the essence of NY city (yes all in this vendor cart on a sidewalk). There it is, cramped and busy, multifarious, indiscriminate, diverse with the cheap things mixed in with the expensive ones, good smells mixed in with the clouds from the sewer grates, colorful and warm and tasty just around the corner, served to you fast with a grunt or if you're lucky (or pretty) maybe a smile and a wink, but they're always looking around for another prospect. There's even a side of danger to it too. Yah, it's good to be alive.
