Joke of the Day

"Butt Kissin"

An old cowhand came riding into town on a hot, dry, dusty day. The local sheriff watched from his chair in front of the saloon as the cowboy wearily dismounted and tied his horse to the rail.

The cowboy then moved slowly to the back of his horse, lifted its tail, and placed a big kiss where the sun don't shine. He dropped the horse's tail, stepped up on the walk and aimed toward the swinging doors of the saloon.

"Hold on there, Mister," said the sheriff. "Did I just see what I think I saw?"

"Reckon you did, Sheriff. I got me some powerful chapped lips."

"And that cures them?" the Sheriff asked.

"Nope, but it keeps me from lickin' 'em."

------------------------------------

This is an appropriate joke for today because I seem to be having a bad case of chapped lips and can't find my Neutrogena lip moisturizer with spf 15, and though I know I shouldn't lick 'em I do it anyway! Maybe I should get a horse...

On the Run

So yesterday, after a late start, we headed to the field to go running, however, when we got there, there was a little league game in play and the other field was occupied by the soccer players and their moms. So we headed for the park, but there were a few problems. First, we chose the field because it would be easier running on grass, rather than pavement, and the park is all pavement, unless you want something nasty on your shoes. Second, the field is circular, so that Rich can get ahead of me and still be able to see that I'm safe and not injured, or god forbid, have stopped. The park, on the other hand, weaves through the woods, has lots of blind turns, and is just a tad spooky when you're alone. Third is that it's that time of the month again for me and parts of me are so tender that it hurts like a mo-fo to run or even jog slowly. I take it better on the treadmill because I go slower. So no running for me for a while. We tried a little, just up an incline and back and man, I gotta tell ya, it's harder going for that minute than it is on the treadmill. I was out of breath at the top and when we got to the car I was out of breath again. haha

Beautiful, inspirational weather outside everyone!

Have a great day!!

Joke of the Day

Bubba pulled over the car by the side of the road and showed Brian where he'd
first had sex.

"It was right down there by that tree. I remember the day plainly. It was a
warm summer day. She and I were so much in love. We walked down to the tree
and made love for hours," Bubba recalled.

"That sounds wonderful," said Brian.

"Yes. It was ok until I looked up and noticed her mother was standing right
there watching us."

"Oh my God!!! What did her mother say when she saw you making love to her
daughter?"

"Baaaaaaa."
Books

So we finally finished "The Prydain Chronicles". It took us five months to finally get through the 5 books. It's very much like a lot of the things we've read so far. Such as: "Harry Potter Books", "The Chronicles of Narnia", even a little like LOTR. So therefore, it was a good series. I thought the ending was a bit on the sad side, but they seem to appreciate that. We're starting on a new book now. By the way, good reading on Rich's part.

So I'm also reading Running With Scissors, for my own pleasure... although I don't think it's so pleasurable to read. It's too uncomfortably "in your face" with the situations, the description, the total madness of it all. It makes me queasy reading it. I bought it because everyone said that it was extremely funny, and though I can see why they would think so (it's almost slapstick... but i'm not one for that), it just appears sad, misguided and twisted to me. Oh well. I'll have to finish it or else I'd never know! Okee. By the way, have any of you heard of neopets? Just wondering. It's a beautiful day outside... there are tons of lawn equipment out already. The neighbor's lawn mower's going, Rich's dad is grinding that weed whacker (ahaha) something awful. He's 60 and he still doesn't know how to wield that thing.

Hope to have a good jog/run today. Have a great day everyone!

New poll by the way. oh and mary ann won out 8 to zilch over jinja!

Joke of the Day

A man gets home, screeches his car into the driveway, runs into the house, slams the door and shouts at the top of his lungs, "Honey, pack your bags. I won the damn lottery!"

The wife says, "Oh my god! No shit?! What should I pack, beach stuff or mountain stuff?"

The husband yells back, "It doesn't matter. Just get the hell out!"
The Sun'll Come Out...Tomorrow?

This past week has been nothing but rain and rain and rain. Yesterday, after the rain, the sun came out and it was actually very pleasant. But I woke up this morning to the sound of cars whizzing over wet road, so it must have rained some time this morning. I hope this doesn't bother my plants too much. I was hoping my strawberries would be red soon but when I checked they had only gotten fatter, and still greenish-white. I blame the lack of sunshine. I was able to get a Crassula (i forget the second part of it's name)... also known as a Jade Plant or Necklace Plant. It is a succulent, part of the cactus family. I hope it gets along with my aloe vera plant. I may take a few pics later and post them up so that y'all can see it. I had two to a pot, so I decided to name them "Rich and Michelle". hmm. Original huh?

Speaking of Rich and Michelle... we've come up with a plan to go running at least once a week, around the old high school. That is part of my exercise regimen. It breaks up the monotony of the treadmill. woo... eh. I'm not a fan of running but it'll be like old times. heh. Okay I gotta run. (Literally).

Have a great day!

Oh yeah, saw the Ms. Butta Face contest on Stern the last few nights. (It's over now) though it was interesting to watch I think they should find someone to produce it better than that. It coulda been much more professional and funnier. Well I really can't say more because they were stupid enough to do it while they were all drunk and even though they think it's hilarious to do it drunk, it's just depressing and pathetic, especially when Howard continually has to remind everyone how drunk he is by saying, "oh I'm so drunk", "i'm sooo drunk right now". I dunno how it is to be drunk but I doubt if I were I would be saying how drunk I am. And Artie, after that drinking mess, you go down 50 points. You were ahead of Stewart but after that Stewart is higher on the list, except Stewart went down 30 points after not warning me that his show was gonna be on vacay! effer. What the heck do I watch now? Yeah yeah, gotta go.

Joke of the Day

Two unemployed guys are talking. One says, "I'm going to become a lion tamer."

The other replies, "That's crazy, you don't know nothing about no lion taming."

"Yes I do!"

"Well, OK, answer me this. When one of those lions comes at you all roaring and biting, what you gonna do?"

"Well, then I take that big chair they all carry, and I stick it in his face until he backs down."

"Well, what if the lion takes that big paw, and hooks the chair with them big claws, and throws that chair out of the cage? What do you do then?"

"Well, then I takes that whip they all carry, and I whip him and whip him until he backs down."

"Well, what if that lion bites that whip with his big teeth, and bites it in two? What you gonna do then?"

"Well, then I take that gun they all carry, and I shoot him."

"Well, what if that gun doesn't work? What will you do then?"

"Well, then I pick up some of the shit that's on the bottom of the cage, and I throw it in his eyes, and I run out of
the cage."

"Well, what if there ain't no shit in the bottom of the cage? What you gonna do then?"

"Well, that's dumb. Cause if that lion comes at me, and he throws the chair out of the cage, and he bites the whip in two, and my gun don't work, there's going to be some shit on the bottom of that cage, you can bet on that."

Men. Big, Ugly Monsters

Saw "Shrek 2" yesterday and I have to say it was great! There were a bunch of kids and right after the "Silence is Golden" message, they went right on yakking. Also, after seeing Tom Hanks shaving his face (preview for "The Terminal") there was a chorus of "Why is he shaving his face?" Anyway... about "Shrek 2", there is a message to it. I went away understanding that all men are ogres, so you just have to choose the best one and become an ogre yourself to get along. I would have to say that it's on par with the first movie and I was very surprised. Oh and one more thing, I also realized that I like cute, mutant babies. For all the people who go see it, do not leave after the first roll of credits because there's something afterwards. If you haven't seen it, go! It's superb. If you haven't seen the first one, you can go see the second one without being lost, but I suggest you watch the first one. Okay, it's gonna have to receive 4 stars (outta four).
Shrek 2- ****.

Have a great day!

Oh! I figured we should have a "Joke of the day" since laughter is the best medicine, so here's the joke:

"Password"

A new employee joins the Company, and is required to have a
password setup for his computer. The boss directed a secretary
to setup the password for him.

The secretary asks the man for the password. The man, attempting
to embarrass the secretary in order to show superiority, said,
"Penis."

Blushing, the secretary inputted the password "Penis", and re-typed
it again. Then she hit enter.

The whole office heard the secretary burst of laughter
as a reaction from the computer's screen:

"Password rejected. Reason: Too short"

hahaha. Aye dios mio!

Family Ties

This is gonna be a short post.

The weirdest thing happened yesterday. I have these cards from my aunts and mom to my cousin Mae, who is now living in Maine. They did not know her new address and so I offered to mail them out to her since I had her new address. However, I looked around for the card she had sent me of her new address and could not find it. I had her cards for a week, because I had forgotten about them. Yesterday I suddenly remembered about them and wanted to call her, but I wasn't sure if I had her new updated cell phone number. She and I never called one another but we did email, so I checked an old email where she sent me her cell number and was going to call her later in the day, when I was sure she was off from work. Well I was sitting in my room, when the idea came to me that Mike would know her sister's cell number etc. So I get my phone and there's a missed call and a message on it, and I thought it mighta been Mike, but when I opened it, it was a number I didn't know, but the area code looked familiar. Then I listened to the message and it turned out to be Mae! haha. And the clincher was that she was in Boston with her boyfriend and his brother and wanted me to join, but I wasn't feeling like it so I just got her address. And that's the snappy story! yay. haha. Yeah it was a weird coincidence, but I think it's the witch-y-ness in our family. heh.

Have a great a day everyone!!

With Diet and Exercise

Okay so it's time to start on a diet and exercise regimen. I always say this but then I just get off of it, but this time I'm serious! I just received my Victoria's Secret swimsuit catalogue and was motivated into doing this. So I'm gonna write out a schedule and stick with it. Hopefully I'll lose some weight and gain some muscle. So why tell the world? Because by telling you I'll have that constant pressure to update and keep at it, I hope it works. I wonder how much I can do in two months?

Part of my schedule has to include a time for me to write. I'm trying to start a book and I'm giving myself the easy goal of writing at least 5 pages a day. That shouldn't be so hard but I'm striving for more, so the faster it'll be complete. The slower it is, the faster I lose interest in it. Must be a form of ADD. Or maybe it's a sign that the book's boring. heh. Well we'll see. Okey so if we stick to 5 pages a day and I write for two months, how many pages is that? 300 pages, (60 days). Wow can you imagine?? haha.

I gotta go. See y'all later. Wish me luck and have a nice day.

Picture of the Week

This was taken a week ago at Mike's school. I just like the long hallway and the reflection it creates.
Joke of the Week

Pride

There were three men on an airplane. It was an African man, Mexican man, and a Filipino man.

The African man began making conversation by telling the other two men that his country had a lot of pride. The Mexican man said his country had a lot of pride things too.

And then the Filipino man said his country had a lot of pride things too: fried chicken, fried shrimp, fried squid, and fried fish!!

---------------------------------------------

It wont always be a Filipino joke. I didn't even think it was as funny as the others I read, but I wanted to keep it clean and safe the first round.

Toodles.
Trivial Pursuits

I didn't get to see Shrek 2 this week. I've been waiting for it to come out because the first Shrek is one of my favorite movies, but of course the sequel is not as great as the first movie, or so the critics say. By the way, this is annoying me; Rich, if you read this, you have to fix the text on the mozilla browser window (upstairs) because I can't read an effing word i'm typing up right now. I'm too lazy to turn on my laptop and you're sound asleep and didn't wanna bother you with my typing.

Anyway, so yeah, will wait til this week to see if I can make it to Shrek. A few problems though, one is that school is letting out and that means more yappers in the audience, especially in a kid's movie, and second, good weather ahead, or so I heard, and good weather seems to trigger a sense of movie going in many people. I dislike when parents think that their child is well behaved enough to keep shut in a theater or in church. At least in church there's a special soundproof room for those noisy kids, but surprisingly many parents refuse to sit in there because they are under the impression that their children are quiet, or maybe, (and this I learned just recently from Andie Richter) parents are so used to ignoring the kids' hollering that they don't even notice it any more. This is what must go through my neighbors' heads (or what doesn't go through) to let their kids scream and yell and cry right outside the window. Rich and I finally realized what kinda noise makes them go running inside...

I have to update my blog because I'm on to a new book and although I still like the "Hawaiin Roller Coaster Ride" song I'm no longer listening to it. By the way, I really dislike that song "The Reason" by Hoobastank because it's so "formulaic". Also another trend in music that I don't like is that new punk look where the lead singer sings with a high pitched voice, but they go around dressed funnily, it doesn't go with their music. And what's embarrassing is that they claim it's rock! Just because they have the electric guitars, when it's obviously pop. It's pop rock. To name two bands, as examples, off the top of my head would probably beBlink 182 and New Found Glory. oh one more! Good Charlotte. One more! Simple Plan. Sorry but I can't tell them apart. Now to discredit all that I just wrote I have to admit that I like that part in "My Band" when Em sings about his salsa. hehe. By the way, how old are the Beastie Boys? I'm trying to find out what the name of the song is with the guy on top of the roof, playing the piano, and when you look down at the people below they're making formations with their bodies, like a car.

Speaking of cars... does nobody know that a solid white line means you should stay in your lane? Or is it just the dumb people of Massachusetts? Huh... everyday it's something new. three hundred thou-
sand!

Have a nice day!

Graduation, Women, Men

Before I start this post I just wanna give a few shout outs to Julienne, who is graduating today. Yay! Happy graduation Julienne. Also happy graduation to my cousin, Frances, who is now a doctor. Wow!! Happy soon to be graduation to my brother, Mike and Julie's brother George!!

Okay, now onto my post.

First off, women are so different; sizes, shapes, looks, etc. Now what offends me is when men who dress up as women or think that they are really a woman inside, believe that they must dress in skirts and dresses, that they must put excessive make-up on, they must wear high heels. Their definition of being a "woman" is skewed. Not every woman wears a dress (i don't), or heels (again I don't) or make-up, (ditto), but I am feminine and I am a woman. Being a woman does not entail owning a few hundred shoes... I really only wear two different pairs, and it's defined by the weather and activity. It's as if they must convince the outside world what they are, instead of being happy, internally, with what they are.

Now a different topic.

The other day, Dr. Phil, had on this couple, and the husband was gay, and they knew this fact before they got married, and they even had one child. But this wasn't what bothered me. What really annoyed me was that Dr. Phil excused his cheating with another man because he was gay! What the f@&$!! Because the guy could not use any kind of self-restraint, we have to just find a different excuse that he cheated on his wife and forgive him? Hey I like guys too and there are temptations all around me but I don't cheat on my guy. For god's sake, does being gay mean that you don't have any self-control? "Oh gosh, I just couldn't help myself"? How dare they make it an issue of being gay and how dare they excuse his disgusting actions. You cheated, that's the base of it. Oh wow, there's a guy across the street, I better f him because that's what I am. I'm a heterosexual. I can't seem to help myself.

Also, another thing that bothers me is that on the Colonial House, this guy felt that he was burdened by keeping it a secret that he was gay. Is it really that hard to keep inside what your sexual preference is? I don't stand around wondering what type of sex you prefer. I like to keep that private. I really don't care. I don't think I have to go around telling everyone that I'm feeling pretty low for not telling them sooner that I'm a heterosexual. Oh god, I have a confession, I'm a Catholic. Oh, so you're gay... well now it's different! Of course not! I'd just be a little grossed at you personally because you're trying to talk to me about sex and I'd rather not discuss it. It's like watching people kiss, I'd rather not see it. Funny enough, the people he told it to just started laughing at him. Their response was "oh, is that all? Well my husband's daughter is gay and my daughter's gay. We thought you were gonna tell us what horrible people we were to make you work so hard." haha. Okay that's enough of my ranting.

Okay all. Have a good day!!

Epiphany

Silly me, forgot to continue with this train of discussion. So last Sunday I was in church, and though people may think I don't take it seriously, with my anecdotes of the booger pew and the cheap woman, I really do listen to the homily and how it would pertain to my life and of those around me. Last Sunday's sermon was how "love" is not only given through your words but also and most importantly through your actions. The greatest evidence of love, as our priest pointed out, was Jesus dying on the cross to save us. How great and how selfless. It's hard to imagine that I would ever do something like that because I am selfish. I come first. My self preservation instinct demands that I come first. Perhaps a mother would give herself up for her children in order to save them, but I cannot imagine doing it for a perfect stranger. Perhaps I need to work on that. But I stray, see this is not when the epiphany occurred.

I need to tell you all a little something. I really enjoy going to church and it's not for the chanting, nor the priest's sermon, it's not for sitting and kneeling, standing and singing. It's not even because I enjoy shaking hands with everyone around me. I see church as God's house and inside I feel secure and pleasantly peaceful. But here's the thing, when I sit there, sometimes in the early time, before it all begins, and the lights are dim and I am surrounded by the darkened wooden pews, soft light filtered through the stain glass windows, kneeling there and praying to God, I feel the physical sensation of a connection. Something rises from the crown of my head and I get a feeling of floating, or coming out of my body. Now this does not only occur when I am in church. It will happen when I am praying at home, when I am feeling particularly exalted and exulted, in a happy state of letting go. I know, i know, y'all are all thinking that Michelle's gone crazy, but this has happened since childhood and I see it as a sign of connecting with a greater being, be it God or be it just happiness or the world's consciousness. Am I one to explain what it is?

Well so the epiphany occurred during that time in church, right after you receive the communion and you're kneeling there in your own thoughts, chewing away, but trying not to make it seem too obvious. I have this thing that before I could swallow all of the host I have to be able to say a prayer for everyone. So kneeling and praying for God to watch and protect my family and those I love and for those I don't, I felt the sensation and this peace came over me, and it's contradictory to say this but I felt overwhelmed that there was this other "presence" that I could feel. I started to tear up and I sat there with these two opposite feelings of calm and "brimmingness", it was strange.

I don't know what else to post. If anyone has a similar occurrence or just needs to comment then leave me one. Thanks and peace be with you.
P.S. Would you call that an "encuentro"?

Trojans

Just a quick ramble...
I refuse to watch American Idol tonight. Besides there's a really good show about people trying to live through colonial times on PBS. It's called Colonial House. Rich and I watched the other two incarnations called 1800 House and Frontier House. They're all rather jolly good. So no more A.I. Vote for whomever you please, it no longer fascinates me. I am on to bigger and better things.

Saw "Troy" today. If all you're going for is Brad Pitt then you wont be disappointed. There are plenty of shots of his nekked body, glistening and rosy, preparing for or in the act of... you know what? Pitt's really losing his sparkle for me. He's still very manly and worth deeming handsome, but all the same, I just don't feel the tingle any more. I guess why fantasize when you got the real thing at home? Only problem is mine isn't as golden tan... And beside Pitt and Bana and even Sean Bean, poor ole Legolas (Orlando Bloom) looks a bit frail and skinny. He doesn't look good with his real hair. Much better with golden, straight locks than curly brown hair.

About the movie... I disliked the fact that they did not follow the book. It's a slanted view, towards the Trojans, hence the title of the movie... Other than that it was fine, decent. 3 stars. (out of 4).

Read Homer's Iliad it's much better... if you have a good imagination.

New Poll!

A mother who is really a mother is never free.
- Honore De Balzac

I used to wonder what it would be like to be an adoring mother. I barely question it any longer because I have tasted it through Soot. Anything she wants she gets, and any wrong doing in anyone else eyes, are in my eyes, something positively wonderful. She hardly ever gets scolded, but rather is praised for something "cute" although it shouldn't be... like chasing the dog and scaring it to death.

But then I saw more examples of this this weekend. Strange how a mother can take something and twist it around so that it shines a wonderful light upon her children. This is a story of one mother and her son. Let's call them Mom and Mike... I related a story to Mom about how a teacher had asked me, in an accusing manner "and who are you?" the day I went to pick Mike up at school. I sat in the auditorium while they marched for National Honor's Society Inductions. And so I responded, somewhat haughtily, "I'm Michelle, Mike's sister!" and got the reply, "oh, you're picking him up," and then left me to return to the meeting. My point was that she was just rude and probably didn't want a student slacking off where she wasn't wanted. However, Mom, thought that that incident was proof that the employees of the school really and truly adore Mike and therefore were very protective of him and wanted to know who this newbie was trying to steal their delightful Mike. Funny enough the woman who asked me who I was was a teacher Mike never had. But that is one of many examples of how a mother can see things through rose colored glasses, only for her children.

Me
On The Road Again

There's a few things I like about going home to New York. First, is just seeing my family and friends, second, is experiencing the nice weather. Third is the drive, home and back to Mass. The better drive is driving back to Massachusetts because I drive the Merritt Parkway to the I-95, and the Parkway has a nice view. My favorite tree is on the Parkway, except they messed it up a few years ago by cutting up the branches. It was my good luck tree, and it looks as if we caught it in the middle of twisting it's hair and arms, and as soon as we leave it'll finish shaking it's self. It's so grand, located somewhere between exits 37-39 on the Merritt Parkway. Imagine driving under a canopy of trees, the sunlight peeking through the branches, light and shadow flickering above you, a warm breeze blowing through the window, the hum of the road beneath you, a good song on the radio. One problem is that it lulls you to sleep, its so soothing. You wouldn't think going 65 mph is soothing but it is. Especially when no one is around you, and when they pass you they just intensify the hum of the asphalt.

So driving drowsy and relaxed I hit Providence, which wakes you up. No pun intended. I went through Rhode Island, not met God, although I think I did have an epiphany in church yesterday. (I'll explain later). Then the sun leaves as soon as I get 5 miles to Mass. and it starts raining and gets cold! So I have to close the window, go slower because of the rain and traffic and turn on the lights because it's getting darker. But the best part of the drive is getting home after the aggravation of driving with Mass. drivers and getting a big hug from Rich. Then I ate, took a shower and went to bed at 6 and didn't wake up til 7 this morning. Nice huh? hehe. It's a crappy day here. I thought that it was supposed to be sunny and warm. Okay, have a nice day everyone!

Number One

Yesterday was quite the busy event around here. We went to many different places... which reminds me that I need to gas up. The last in the evening's list of things to do was to go over my "aunt's" house for her daughter, Cheska's, 10th birthday party and her other daughter's Ciara (Shara) first communion celebration. Mike and I decided that we should get the uno cards out and enjoy a few hands of that with everyone. Both Cheska and Ciara inisted on playing. They are both very bossy and very demanding... very much like their mom. heh. They're both little preeny princesses too, again, like their mom. heh. They had invited their friends from school over and so there were a few troops marching around and around the house.
It was a few good games of uno. Poor Alison lost every round but one, and the one she won she actually won before anyone else did. Haha. Terrible. I dunno if it was because she didn't know how to play, or she just ended with a bad hand time after time. You would think she would win every round since we were all focused in on eachother and wanted to make everyone else draw four, but she always seemed to be the one to draw and be the one to be skipped. I did not know she went to college already. whoops. I should have known it though.
Then we played "donkey", a fast paced round of passing and slamming. It was a bit edgy, with people screaming "not yet!" "don't pass" "where's my card???" and Ciara screaming, "I want to play the next round!!" "Why can't I play now?" "Let me do it for you!!" Very intense.
Only complaint I had was that Uncle Jesse, father of the girls and husband to said aunt above, didn't cook... especially his popular leche flan. They ordered out the food from a Filipino catering service, and I really didn't appreciate it. It didn't have that home feel to it. I hope they didn't use MSG, but doesn't matter anyway, I didn't eat a lot of it. Only the dessert. hehe. Mom was exclaiming I would gain ten pounds after eating the cassava cake. But I just say, "let me eat cake!". Uh-oh. I gotta get ready for church. I hope they have a nine o'clock mass.
I'll finish this little tale later.

Ka-ching

New York is the epitome of bling. I say this somewhat indulgently, and half embarrased, like having that one aunt who puts on a lot of make-up and clings to the "essence" of youth, but ya can't say anything bad about her because she's really quite nice and treats you well, even if she is gaudy. As soon as I cross over the border from Connecticut to New York, I am suddenly surrounded by vanity plates and enormous cars, with blinding rims. The people are loud and garish, but funny and very into their material goods, whether it be around their necks or around their cars. I like New Yorkers. It's not everyday I catch a gay man cursing at an old woman at the grocery store, in a joking manner. "Oh come on, would you move ya shit already! This is 12 items or less. I coulda been home listening to Barbara" (now imagine he said that laughing all the way). Alright, he didn't say the last sentence, but I forget what he really said. The old woman shaking her fist at him, "oh to the moon!" alright, she didn't really say that either, I think she was deaf and didn't hear him... Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Massachusetts has their own standard of bling, but in my definition of bling, it comes to mean "flashy material things that you showoff for the benefit of those around you," and not just expensive homes and furniture (because the whole world can't come into your house to see it, but they can see your cars and accessories). I love vanity plates, I think they're great to read, especially if they're funny (not just names). I saw so many mini coopers here too, one guy's plates read "lil mini". I woulda went with "mini me" but that's just me. or lil meeni. Eh, whatever. That's all for now, it's too early to think of anything else to add.

Don't Rain On My Parade

So poor LaToya was voted off tonight. I was hoping she would win. Well I wont be watching the show any longer. You see now, I really can't complain about it because I didn't vote for anyone and I never do, so it's almost unfair. I'll have to live with the decision... it's almost like the presidency. I didn't vote and haven't even registered to vote so I don't really have any right to bitch about Bush... right? I turn my back on it all!

Me
B is for Balmy

Rich's mom told me the other day that Massachusetts has the worst drivers in the whole fiddy states (this was according to some statistics pole thing on the news, and not just opinion, although that has been my opinion before I ever heard this fact) and now that the weather is increasingly getting better ever day, and more people are out of school, one must be ever so careful when one drives around... even if it's to the supermarket (less than a minute away). The other day, some lady behind me switched lanes quickly so that she could zoom up besides me and then cut me off, and then switched one more lane left into the left lane turn for the supermarket. She halted at the light and sat there waiting as I passed her, (i was going straight). Now I wondered what the point of it all was. She coulda made the red light for the turn if she stayed behind me, but I guess she wanted to get to the red light much sooner. Another similar situation occurred just the other day when Rich and I were driving home. There's work being done on our local bridge and there is a huge flashing arrow to inform everyone that only one lane was open. I was in the correct lane (the right lane) and all the people on the left lane had to move over, so I let the person in front of me sneak in and kept going. Suddenly, to our left, a huge pickup comes barreling besides us, squeezing past us and cutting us off. Oh man was I mad, but then our exit is just over the bridge so I let the matter pass. The truck continued straight... when we got home, we realized that there was a huge old traffic jam on the road that the pickup had taken. Now I really hope he did get into an accident, but if he didn't I was satisfied that he would be stuck in that traffic for a half an hour. Which goes to show you that rushing anywhere on local road with stop lights and such gets you nowhere fast. You're only gonna hit a red light, and the person you just pissed off will be right behind you. Well now that's out of my system, have a safe and happy summer and drive carefully. It'll be a strain to drive anyway since gas prices have skyrocketed. Oh, also, the price of cream, butter and milk have also risen. So take it easy on the dairy. haha I am slightly lactose intolerant, but I like a good mint chocolate chip or ice cream sandwich ice cream everyone in a while.

Keep cool.

Hey, those of you on blogger, (this should be the next poll, but can't because it would miss others not on blogger) do you like the new setup? I'm getting old because I'm beginning to think that change is bad, but in actuality I like the new set up. It's cleaner and neater. I like the little tabbies and stuff. Okay. It's a nice day here but they're expecting a thunderstorm later on in the day.

Have a great day everyone!

Empty Nest

My parents are feeling the syndrome. During this time of mass graduations, my brother is being called forth to graduate as well. Now I found out from my mom that Dad wishes there were more of us kids around, instead of just two. Should I be insulted or not? haha. Weren't we perfect?? No, they're feeling it. No more children, all off to college. It's the opposite of what they have been telling us since we were kids, "When you're out of the house, we'll ___." (Fill in the blank.) But, now what do I hear? That they wished there were more to send off. haha. I think they were planning on a "romantic" cruise together. Romance? That's not in my parents' vocabulary. But this brings me to Julienne's post.

When I go home, my parents don't ever question what I do, but then I don't do anything, but if I did they don't say a word. It's strange because I expect them to. I still expect them to tell me to go to bed at a decent hour and they have never said it since I've been away to college. Sometimes I say things, just to see what my mother would say and she just says, "oh you're grown up, I can't tell you what to do." ahaha. That is crazy. Once, in freshman year of college, did they decide to say something to me about my relationship with Rich, but after that it's never come up and nothing since then. It's as if, as soon as I crossed the threshold to college I was no longer me, but a grown up.

There's an adage that says "You can never go home again," and this is so true. I've experienced it and I realized after reading Julie's post, that she has realized it too. Mike, though he and I have a great time with eachother for two days, if I stay there longer, we're on each others nerves. It's always been like that. But that's stayed the same, what's weird is I seem to be seeing them with the eyes of a stranger...

Will continue this later.

Return

Yes, I feel as if I've stepped back, farther than my family's range and can see them a little more objectively. Like, coming back one weekend I noticed that my parents argue with one another often, and I was a little weirded out by this, but then I realized that this was normal, and that this was their way. Of course I still do feel as if I were only a visitor at the house, and not a member. As if I should watch what I say and how I sit and eat. There are a few quotes from the book, "Girl With a Pear Earring," hang on, gotta go find it. "It was not easy visiting home... home had come to feel like a strange place. I was beginning to forget where my mother kept things,... after only a few months I could describe the house in Papists' Corner better than my family's." (p 76). There are other similar references in the beginning of the book. And similarly I felt this way only at the start of my life away from my family. It's just a matter of getting accustomed to their ways again, and soon enough I am one of them. I barely see them when I'm home and they're both working, and that's something that was once normal but was now a strange experience to me. I've become used to someone always being around to hassle you, or to yell at dogs. It's very quiet the times I'm home and they're sleeping and Mike's at school. I wander around the house, and have to come up with the excuse of gassing up the car, cooking something to eat or picking up Mike from school because it seems too quiet. Doesn't help that we live in a wooded area, and a lot of the noises of the main avenue barely can make its way up our hill. Unlike here where the main road is our backyard and our days are filled with morning traffic and late evening traffic and the bustle in between. The above adage is defined on clichesite.com as meaning, "Once you make a big change in your life, like leaving your childhood house, things will not be the same." You can never go home again... once you've experienced something else.
Explanation

I have to explain why I put that particular "Picture of the Week" up, for this week. First off, that is a cherry tree in the yard. Second, we've had dreary days the past few days and since the pic was taken earlier in the week, when we had sunshiny weather, it made me feel good just putting it up. Mental note... maybe I shouldn't type these up this early since my mind seems to wander around in my own dreamworld. I just realized I've been sitting here, not typing, but staring off into space, thinking of another entry I will post on later. This was ten minutes ago!

Getting back... so this particular cherry has only bloomed once, since I've been here, about four years ago, (and no other time before that) and it was so majestic and grand then that I've waited every year for its blossoms. The year it blossomed, which I keep telling everyone is the secret, was the year I took Jake, the orange cat, out for walks around the lawn, with a leash. (We eventually stopped this when we found a big ol' tick sticking to him). But during this time we were tick-free and so we would ramble around. I took him to the front yard and to my amazement he actually started digging a little hole and instead of rolling around in the dirt (which he usually did) he decided to squat over it and leave the tree a little present, in the form of manure. A few weeks later, voila! The grand fuschia blossoms of this cherry tree.

Well now... so about ten days ago, Rich and I were getting the house ready for inspection, (it's for an appraisal for a loan), when I suggested that the outside of the house needed our attention too, such as pruning and putting together a few bushes and branches. He goes ahead with his duties, like a good man, heh, and I worked around the inside. I was done and wanted to see how he had progressed. When I opened the front door... there on the welcome mat looked something like a dead creature. I opened the glass door and got a good peek at it, which scattered the flies. It looked like a little mouse with bits of puked up cat food surrounding it.

I stepped gingerly over the mat and went to Rich to ask him if he saw the mat item. He really doesn't watch where he's going, so I knew the answer was "no", and so he said "no" and I told him to take a look. When he did, we came up with the hypothesis that this was a carcass of a mouse, which a cat had swallowed up (live), but couldn't keep in and decided to leave, as a present to us, (we changed it later to a present for Soot, cause she is quite the little beauty). Well now the question was, who would clean it? I'm the less squeamish of the two when it comes to dead creatures (see my dead creatures pictures on my laptop), and even though it was decided that it was a present for Soot, from a neighborhood (admirer) cat, I really believe that it was meant for me. Rich didn't see it, his vision was clouded, it was only revelaed to me. And so, with this offering, I too, dug a hole at the base of the tree and gently (alright, roughly) pushed the mouse thing and goodies into the hole and covered it up. Well, whaddaya know? A few days later, the tree blossomed. Rich thinks it's witchcraft on my behalf, in form of an animal sacrifice.

Anything to make this tree bloom. Of course the nasty little inch worms made small work of it in a few days and ate most of its blooms and leaves. And so, that was the story of my cherry blossoms and the picture below.

Picture of the Week

A few more things

You guys know that song "Hey Mama", by the Black Eyed Peas? There's a part in the song where the guy sings, right after the "til infinity, til infinity loop" ,

"Nosa dima shock, nosa dima ting
everytime you sit there i hear, bling bling
O wata ting, hear blacka sing
grinding, and winding
and the madda be moving in a perfect timing"

Now, due to the sucky reproductions of all the lyrics, every one you go to on the internet has the same one on their lyrics site. But the point of this post is, if you listen to this part, espcially the area i placed in bold, "hear blacka sing", doesn't it sound like "pure magaling"... sorry. This is a filipino reference. Magaling means "talented". Yeah I know. uber flip. Just listen to it.

Speaking of magaling... hey Mike, congrats on being the Salutatorian of your escuela. Sorry about the "second place is first loser" jibe. I didn't know. haha. Second place is still first loser... but you're no loser... no, not at all. Does it make you feel any better when I tell you that I thought the Salutatorian in my class was a pot smoker? One more dig... lets see if you can get a Magna Cum Laude, like me... or perhaps you're competitive nature will make you get the summit, a la Suma Cum Laude. Congratulations! I hope you don't pull an Uncle Danny. haha
By the way, this latin is quite indecent...

For those who don't know... Salutatorians are second from Valedictorians. Meaning Mike, to my surprise ranks second in his class. Wow! I ranked somewhere at 15, so I am impressed. Are you a nerd or a geek?

Mother's Day

I'm about to call my mom to wish her a Happy Mother's Day. I hope she's not feeling bad. This is the worst ever, because I forgot to give her a card! A while ago (about two weeks) I ordered her a "fruit of the month club" selection from Harry and David, which sends her fruits every month for five months (I chose the five month option, you could do more or less). It was a good assortment of fruit too. I chose it because I had given her one of those tower baskets for her birthday which had an assortment of stuff to eat etc. and she enjoyed it all. I figured she'd enjoy fresh, tree ripened fruit every month.

On a tangent, once I ordered these pluots from a company I saw on Martha Stewart, and it was expensive but it was worth it. Pluots are a hybrid fruit that combines plums and apricots... there are more plum genes than apricot. They were sweet, beyond sweet, but had a nice firm, crunchy skin, and juicy! I have not had a similar experience when it comes to pluots, or plums. The secret was they ripened it on the trees, unlike Supermarket fruits, which are ripened in the store or in cold storage for a while. But anyway...

So, i ordered them but have not received word from any of the parties (mom or harry and david) whether they were shipped or whether they were received. I was sent a confirmation of order, but not one of shipment. And no one seems to be picking up their cell phones to talk to me. I have an inkling why this is so, but I'll wait ten more minutes before I find out. If the fruits haven't come (pearsnapples... a hybrid of pears and apples) I'll have to contact harry and david and apologize to my mom... hehe.

She shoulda seen the Yankees game as her Mother's Day gift too! haha. She had an excellent time, by the way. Although, this is not saying much since she can have a great time driving around. My mom still gets chills going to the movies and watching it big screen. Oh damn! That's what I shoulda gotten her. Free movie passes, I think those woulda been appreciated more than fruit. I called her up last Sunday and she was non stop yackety-yacking about how great the game was, how great the stadium was, how great the guys passing peanuts were and how great the people who caught the peanuts were. She lives for the experience of it all. I'm happy she had a good time. I think she was starting the chant for her row, "Jeter, Jeter, Jeter!" haha. Nuts. She's all happy over her new hair too. She was listing all the people who gave her compliments over it. Really... she looks the same to me. But I want her to grow it out, she'll look really good with her hair long. I hate how women are under the impression that chopping their hair really short makes them look younger. It's not true. Oh. gotta call mom.

By the way, I think Mike's going to SUNY New Paltz, which is good. I wouldn't be able to stand him here in Boston. Our relationship is much stronger on the phone, and kept at an hour's conversation, than if he were around me everyday. He really needs to grow up. That's not meant as an insult, I meant that he needs to be responsible for his own actions and learn how to deal with things on his own without the relative security of family around. For god's sake, he still has me buy his stuff for him, at the counter, when I'm home. That reminds me of another person too...

Happy Mother's Day!

Fill 'er Up

The other day George was commenting on his blog that the price of gas in NY was astronomical. In pure vanity, I proclaimed that the prices of gas here, where I live, (Mass.) were much, much lower. Then today, driving by my local Exxon, what did I behold? Prices that made my jaw drop. Last week, I know the cheapest was about $1.64-7, and the most expensive about $1.87. Then, golly gee, when I passed today, it was $1.96 for the cheapest, and $2.06 for the most expensive! That is nuts!! Good thing I try to gas up on Wacky Wenesdays, or is it Thrifty Thursdays? Whatever it is, that's when it's not so expensive. Another thing to add, I have a very good car when it comes to the economics of gas guzzling, and I only gas up, about every two and a half weeks. Pretty damn good huh?

Me.

Addendum uno:
Did anyone see the final Friends? I really didn't see, except the first five minutes. I tuned out a long long time ago. It "jumped the shark" even before Monica and Chandler hooked up, but that was a very big, dumb move. The first five mins. made me want to gag, when I saw that Monica looked more pregnant than the woman having twins. eh. It made me wonder why she woud have someone else's kids when she seemed able to have her own. Anyway, I'm glad its over... It was spiralling downwards.

Maybe I should have said "addenda"...
Addendum dos:
I caught the Oprah interview with Brad Pitt, on his movie "Troy", and you know what? He's just eye candy and nothing more. It's so sad. I don't fantasize about Brad Pitt, but if I did, he'd be much more than eye candy. He would be funny and sarcastic and impish (or is the term "roguish") (haha, I just looked up the definition for roguish and one was "an individual exhibiting a chance and usually inferior biological variation"... maybe that is not the term)... anywho. He'd be smart, and witty and with it. But the Oprah interview confirmed my initial inklings... yes, I'm sorry to say it, Brad Pitt is a himbo, and this makes me like Jon Stewart a little more than I already do. Too bad they're both much older. Brad Pitt is 40! Geez, that's almost indecent. heh. Almost. He's still eye candy... suh-weet.

Last, and more disgusting of the three...
Addendum tres:
Do you know they make old people (senior citizen, to be pc) porn? Yes! Ew... Old people doing it, and other old people like watching it! (i just thought of something, maybe not-so-old-people like it too! Ugh) Yes... please don't ask me how I stumbled upon this fact. But i figured I'd share the "love". I wonder if they get to use their discount. haha.

Nighty night everyone.

Revenge of the Geeks

The other day Rich offended my thin skin by telling me that I was not/ am not a true nerd. I was not a nerd, but rather just "clever". I think he mighta said "a clever monkey"... I have always known that I am more of a Jack of all trades, master of none type, but don't take my nerd status from me too! This affected me for a while. I think we eventually stumbled over the fact that I may be a geek, but not a nerd... and that's worse! I'm a specialty geek, specializing in exact change and how to give change so that the outcome would be a nice round number. It was as if I was going through teenage angst again! I wanted to belong to the nerd clan, because really, how many exact change specialty geeks are out there? However, this new found status is due to the fact that I can blend with everything and everyone. I'm clever. Problem is, because I didn't have a place to belong to, which is really what everyone wants in this life, it adds to my insecurities, because I read somewhere that Geeks only socialize with Dweebs, and Rich (who is a nerd) only socializes with Dorks and never the twain shall meet. haha. But then... I read a few articles, and there is this one, the difference between the two and I realized that I did belong to a clan...

This is a quote from "The Socio-Psychological Distinction of Nerds vs. Geeks" http://www.earthsea.com/metrogamers/nerd-gee.htm

"Nerds tend towards some kind of scientific, rational, ordered pursuit of thought such as math, physics or engineering. Rather than jumping into mainstream culture they will spend their time solving technical or logical problems, and sometimes this is out of sheer enjoyment. They tend to be lost in their own thought in a rational way such as in terms of problem solving. Just think of the pocket protector, sliding ruler, and calculator type person."

"Geeks tend towards the misfit bunch. They may be intelligent but towards liberal studies areas and thus their angle is more towards drama, imagination, etc. Their interests take them away from
mainstream culture towards some outlook on reality that requires an imaginative component. They can get lost in their own thought also but this tends to be day dreams, fantasies or whatever gives them some kind of psychological boost before going back into the world of the 'mundane'."

I am a geek!! This article goes on to state the mixes of both, for example, Rich may just be a strong nerd and weak geek because of his peppered Star Trek references + his obsession with stuff rational etc., while I am a strong Geek and a weak nerd, the type to get an English major... driven by the dramatics, collector of books and other things. One question to Rich, do you secretly wish to be Spock? haha Ooh nice ears. Now that I've found my place in this world, I can breathe a sigh of relief...I belong! Now that that's over with... there was this cute, pale nerd that caught my eye...

Feeling good! Have a great day everyone!

You Can Fly and Pearl Earrings

I saw "Girl With A Pearl Earring" the movie, the other day. I have to admit that that's the first movie I've seen that has stuck very very close to the book. I've seen movies where the author writes the screenplay but it's still not like the book, but this one, the author was involved and kept it close to the real thing. It was great. It captured the quietness of the book as well as the sexual tension between the two characters. What it didn't go through, and rightly so because it woulda been too much, was her family's struggles. Scarlett Johansen was perfect for the part and I can never say anything wrong about Colin Firth. haha. The movie is almost like making a story around how the Mona Lisa has come about. But better.

We also saw the movie "Peter Pan" which was good, and sad and not at all kiddie, although Rich woulda liked a pirate song thrown in for good measure. It's always hard to watch a movie with children in it because I'm critical in seeing whether they stuck to their character or get a line wrong or off, or if the delivery is wrong, but this one was good. There was a tension between Peter and Wendy as well, and that was what it should be. Tension, mind you, not sexuality...which would have been gross, just tempered enough to make you smile, it was sweet. Reminds me of the quote, "better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."

Good good good.

Have a good day all.

Open Sesame

These are a few articles quoted from the net...
This is a statement from the Children's Television Workshop about Bert and Ernie's sexuality...

"Bert and Ernie, who've been on Sesame Street for 25 years, do not portray a gay couple, and there are no plans for them to do so in the future. They are puppets, not humans. Like all the Muppets created for Sesame Street, they were designed to help educate preschoolers. Bert and Ernie are characters who help demonstrate to children that despite their differences, they can be good friends."

It's sad that they had to defend this.
Here's another article just made for laughs:
"Oh come on, Ernie and Bert are not gay, and Ernie is not dead. If you must know they're communist agents sent to infiltrate Sesame Street. Its true. In the height of the cold-war the Soviets became envious of our Puppet-making technology. They used their own crude technology to manufacture two puppets, Ernie and Bert, which they sent to America to spy on the rest of Jim Hensen's merry little band of Muppets. They were, however, under strict orders not to fraternize too closely with the other members of the cast, for fear that they would get corrupted by the cheap thrills and fast times of being a famous puppet. This explains, why they were almost never shown in skits which included any other characters.
The nasal twang with which Bert's speaks betrays him as a non-American to any trained Linguist worth his (or her) salt. It is actually the unmistakeable accent of one born and bred in East-Moscow. Ernie's squeaky laugh and goofy good humor betray him as a resident of the Ukraine.
The fact that Ernie and Bert are spies also explain why Bert is so fond of pigeons. They are not ordinary pigeons that he is fond of, no, they are special Russian puppet carrier pigeons which he uses to send messages back to the homeland. And Ernie's "rubber duckie"is actually a cleverly disguised snub-nosed Browning 38 with which he deals with people who get too close to his sinister secret.
Do you think it was any accident that Jim Henson's death occured so close to the collapse of the Soviet empire. Do you think that its any accident that Bert's dance "Doin' the Pigeon" is almost identical to the marching style of members of the Red Army -- which, itself, is almost identical to the Nazi goosestep!
These are all true facts, you understand. Since the Soviet collapse Ernie has gone underground, while Bert remains a contact man on the outside. Who knows what evil schemes these two are concocting as we sit here, having pointless debates about the sexual leanings of pieces of felt and foam rubber."

Future Tense

Remember in the 50's... well actually I don't either, but I mean the reruns of shows in black and white, where they have the shows all taking place in the future? Well we will all know that we are in the future when a few things occur (using those reruns as our cues, oh also the Jetsons [of course]) . First off, we still do not have a robotic maids sweeping around us, speaking in those awful tinny voices, although we're working on it. We do have roomba, robotic floor cleaner, which zooms around without our help, cleaning the floor. Then there are the flying cars. Flying cars! Imagine the accidents then, huh? We'll have our kids playing in the park and there will be cars, falling from the sky to worry about! There are the laser guns, which we have, sorta, just a beam attached to a real gun to help the carrier aim it at the right spot. We have the technology with lasers, but instead of guns, to destroy our enemies we have them to fix myopia, and we drive our cats crazy with the little red spots on the floor. Watch out aliens or we'll ferociously fix your nearsightedness. Oh yes, this one, we'll really know if we're in the future when we have submissive, cheerful housewives! Once all women decide, as one, to stop wearing pants and stop working, and serve our husbands delicious meals (or pills), smiling happily all along, we'll know we are in the future. Speaking of which, there is a new movie coming out, based on the book "The Stepford Wives" (same author of "Rosemary's Baby") which looked like a horror movie to me, but I think Rich might have had a smile on his face watching the trailer. You'll have to watch the trailer to know. One last thing, a cue to the future, which shows that we are one foot in, is the jet pack. Just recently, a man, soared high above London on a jet pack! Yes folks, we are almost there... so close. It's gonna be the exponential factor, how we start so slow but soon everything zooms at an unbelievable rate. And we'll all soon look like this:

"Have a good fright", a quote from Dad's favorite joke. It should be flight, but.... forget it.

Updates

I will soon post a new poll, so don't fret! I have to update everything on my site as well. First a poll, but I gotta think of a subject, then change the book and music section, because both are no longer true. Oh gosh, the window was open last night because it was hot before we went to bed, then during the night the wind blew in a cold air and I was freezing. I finally wrapped the blanket around my head and had it at such a weird angle that when I woke up this morning I had a crick in my neck. Oh man! Now it's better, but I was so cold! I checked the temp this morning and it was 49 degrees! It was so warm yesterday. Anywho, don't forget that American Idol is on tonight. I'm rooting for LaToya. Yay! I haven't voted, ever for an American Idol, I'm a passive watcher. So that's it! It feels as if fall is coming in, instead of summer. Well have a good time everybody!

Good Times

The pictures below were taken some time last week. We're trying to get in our kite flying before the summer comes and the strong breezes die down. The spot where we fly is a little secluded park that's right on the water. It was such a nice, warm day when we went, that I got to roll up my jeans and wade around in the water, and take a few pics of the little snails and seaweeds. I took two abandoned snail shells home. My cat likes to chase them around when I roll them on the floor. I've heard that snails grow along with their shells and can live from 5 to 10 years. Well anyway, enjoy your Sunday! Have a great day everyone!

Ketchup

God I've been neglecting my poor blog because of that damned Graffiti... I've also neglected other things besides my blog, and for that, I apologize. You'll all be happy to know that this morning I completely ignored that Game and plopped myself down for a few games of Spelldown... my new obsession. haha. Just kidding, sort of.

I saw your blog, Mike, and I said, "man how long can this thing get?" (I'm gonna try to top it) "Damn, he just doesn't stop, does he?" then I got to the bottom and started crying. Yup, the emotional-ity runs in the family. How sappy. But it is my time of the month and I get extremely weepy then, I don't know what your excuse is... Good blog, I didn't mean I got bored reading it, I just scrolled down before I read it and thought the above. I still think it woulda been better if we had a few more siblings than just us, though I doubt we'd be as close. Better with more siblings? Probably because I woulda liked a more crowded household, and more people to boss around, being the eldest. I like being the eldest, although I sometimes wish someone came before me to get all the brunt of it first... haha. Mike and I are so far apart (6 years) that maybe even having me go first he still gets a big chunk of the parents' wrath. haha, they haven't simmered down just yet.

Speaking of sappy, I watched the movie "Love Actually" and cried almost non-stop through it. Did I mention it was my time o' the month? You really can't go by what I say then... too many hormones rushing through. It was a great chick flick. I repeat, chick flick! Oh gosh, "love actually is all around us"... oh man i was a mess at the end of it. Rich looked at me and rolled his eyes, then he hugged me. I give it 4 stars. haha. It's about losing love, and new love, and old love, and love rekindled. All the different stages of love, and just the heartbreak of love, and it's thrill. Of course my favorite English actor, Colin Firth is in it. (You may know him in such films as Bridget Jones' Diary, and Pride and Prejudice [bbc mini series], Girl With A Pearl Earring, Shakespeare in Love, and The Importance of Being Earnest). Watch it, if you're feeling blue...it makes you feel good and sometimes even bluer. haha It was written by Richard Curtis, writer of such films as Bridget Jones' Diary, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Notting Hill. (I'm beginning to think this man has a crush on Hugh Grant). Oh it's dirty how the British play such a wicked game on me, such as I am, an Anglophile. They beckon at me and I follow blindly. Oh the way of madness.

I haven't just been playing Graffiti, I cleaned house, in lieu of spring cleaning and house inspection, I cleared out my strawberry patch, planted catnip, for my cat, watched a few movies, wrote 40 pages of a book, cooked some delicious hamburgers and chicken sandwiches, and the piece d'resistance? I published two playlists on iTunes. It's a new feature called "iMix", only on itunes 4.5, where people can post their playlists (of songs they bought from iTunes) and other people can vote on how good their mixes are. haha I have two, the first is called "Mish Mush", just a bunch of songs I've been listening to lately and that I like. They're all different genres and types. The second is called "Feel Like Makin' Love" and it's all songs to, well ya know. It's got Roberta Flack, a bunch of Norah Jones', of course Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Vivaldi (cause you need a spring in your step (pun intended), Chris Isaac and John Mayer (i couldn't resist). Haha. It's pretty hard to find though.

Today my brother and parents are going to a Yankees game. I hope the Yankees win. I hope they get there safe. I hope they have a good time. I hope it's nice when they get there. It's a beautiful day here in Mass. So nice in fact, that my cat hasn't moved from her perch on the filing cabinet, and that's a good sign. If it were too hot she'd be sleeping her poor little head off, just like Rich is doing right now. haha You must forgive him, he goes to bed late at night. Speaking of which, I woke up to him talking in his sleep last night, but I couldn't make out what he said.

Oh by the way, Mike, got mom a good Mother's Day present, I 'll tell you about it later. I hope she thinks it's good too. haha. Have a good time at the game. If you see Artie Lange, please get his autograph. haha. He's the funny one on the Stern show. Oh he's fatter than this picture.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!
