Go To Hell

If any of you are thinking about going to see "Hellboy", don't. We went to see it yesterday only because it had good reviews but, dear friends, do not step a foot into the door (don't waste yer moneh!). 2 Stars! (out of 4). It left some gaping holes in the plot, didn't focus enough on the dialogue, the sequencing felt wrong to me, tried to be sentimental but didn't "show" it, there was no connection with the characters at all, there was an array of silly characters that you think are invincible but are not, tried too hard to be funny and just all around weak. I was expecting a similarity to X-men but didn't even deliver on the powers category. ugh. Now that I reread what I wrote, 1 star!! Don't even see it when it's on t.v. for free. Do not see "Hellboy". Felt gypped*. It was hellebad. haha.

Okay gotta run. Have a good day y'all.

*Gypped means: cheated. Probably comes from the word "gypsy". (gyp can mean swindler, fraud...). Yes I know many of you know the meaning, it's just I've never seen it spelled out before. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

Picture Of The Week

Whoops, forgot to put this up yesterday. This was taken a few days ago. It just captures how the rest of the week was; bare, cold, grey, begging for spring to spring. This was taken at a "park" (more like a parking lot) that we always pass by and we picked the coldest day to take a picture! Rich just cut his hair so he didn't have any protection for his little head...he did have a hoodie but man-like refused to wear it. So we hustled around the park and took this picture, and made a festinate* retreat. That water behind it is just a little harbor-lake created by the ocean. The line of trees behind it to the right is a dog park that we refuse to go to...because it's full of crap, literally. Behind the dog park you can make out some apartment buildings (3) in descending order and that's where a park that we used to run in lays. (lies?) We go there every so often, but we suspect it's where the army may keep secrets, beneath the hills and things, but that's all speculation, although there is this odd vent thing that sticks out above the hill, hidden by brush and trees. AND it's got a perfect view of anything coming into Boston harbor...shh. They may use it to spray chemicals at "enemies". Have a good day all!

*Festinate means: hasty

Whine, whine, whine,

If any of you ever get to dine at a really fancy restaurant where the waiter stays there and pulls your seat for you and applies your napkin to your lap, then you should ask the sommelier* what Chablis or Cabernet sauvignon or Sauvignon Blanc or Syrah would go well with the meal you just ordered. Then you can do your little dance by swirling it around your glass and smelling it and placing it in your mouth, and opening your nasal passage to it, because it's flavor is really smelled not tasted...blah blah blah. I prefer sitting around comfy and cozy, no one over my shoulder listening to my conversation. Oh try some desert wines as well. Alright I gotta run.

*Sommelier means: a waiter in a restaurant who has charge of wines and their service : a wine steward.
DOn't be embarrassed to call him over and say "the corking is all wrong! this wine is disgusting! return it and bring me another bottle!" although I wouldn't use the term "disgusting".

April Showers?

Hey don't forget to set your clocks forward tonight everyone.

Gosh we've been getting some very wet weather here. It rained for three days straight. I accidentally left Soot's old litter box outside when I went to clean it out and each day you could tell how much rain fell because it kept getting higher and higher. On the last day, though I shouldn't say last because it's grey and looking wet outside, it was at the brim and must have spilled over some. There are towns all around us with flooding problems. One town got as much as 9 inches of rain!! 9 inches! On the news they said that if it had been snow (1 inch of rain=10 inches of snow) some towns would have had snow as tall as Yao Ming out their front doors. Well instead of shoveling they're rowing. Some people had abandoned their cars in the middle of the street, some doors open, as a water covered their seats. Others thought that they could make it only to realize too late that the water was impassable, they sat inside and waited for fire rescue to come along with their inflatable raft. It was almost apocalyptic, streets desserted of life, the only movement was the surging water, flowing to find every spot it hadn't covered, cars left behind to be engulfed by the coming water, grey looming clouds unsatisfied with what it had just released, biding their time before the next downpour.

The grass seeds have been washed into the mulch, so that this spring...when we finally get to it, we will have grass covered mulch, just what we wanted. It was rather an inauspicious* time to throw down grass seeds. Oh well. On a cheerier note, I caught a few signs on green from my strawberry patch, the other day. Upon closer inspection I saw that they are coming out, little frilled leaves rising from the dead leaves and vines surrounding them. I'll be damned, they did make it through the winter. Hardy little buggers. Okay gotta run. Have a good, safe, flood free day everyone.

*Inauspicious means: Unfavorable.

Oh my God! You guys are never gonna believe this! Yesterday I went to the supermarket to pick up some fruit and I had a few dollars left so I went and bought 3 scratch tickets, these $2 ones called "Fire and Ice". So the first one I scratched I had a diamond which was $2 and I was like, "okay there's my money back on that one" and the second one I scratched and I had one diamond and I kept scratching and and every spot had a diamond on it!! THAT'S $20,000!!! I was in my car going, "no, no, no, NO!" I drove home and my hands were shaking and I had to keep humming to myself like I was nuts!

I decided that with this money I would buy a few more stunt kites, maybe a couple more cats, and a big rubber ball. Woohoo.

April Fools!
Happy April everyone! Haha. Be wight, I prithee.

Have a great day all!
Me.

Oh word of the day is: gadzookery.

Gadzookery means: Use of archaic words or expressions, e.g. wight (brave), prithee (I pray thee), ye (you, the).
