Other Things...
I finally got my Book of Mormon! I've been waiting for this thing for a long time! Heh, okay not so long. I saw their commercial and wanted to see what their videos were like but then when I signed up on their website I decided to get their bible instead. I have not started reading it yet.
Also we saw the movie "Envy" with Jack Black and Ben Stiller... we're Jables fans. Is it "Jables" or J.Bls. heh. We both agreed it was better than Spiderman 2. Oh by the way, the special features were crap. heh. CRAP! We also saw Super Size Me... if that doesn't make you quit eating junk food then you're hopeless. heh. It was good. I suggest you all watch it. It's funny and informative. But I think that's the point of many documentaries (some are not funny but all should be informative) heh. Okay I gotta go.

Pouring, the Day After and Doodads
Hey all! Well there goes Jeanne! Yesterday morning as I drove down the street the road was strewn with the little branches and leaves of the trees that lined the road and my window was assaulted with fat, insistent drops. Thank God the sun came out in the afternoon, I was getting a little depressed with the weather and the cold. Then this morning I woke up to the sun in my eyes. Even as I type this I have sun in my eyes, making me swerve over to the right to miss my left eye. It's a brisk 50 degrees outside but I'm snug and warm in soft flannel. Comfort is always the main issue.
Okay, I keep forgetting to tell you all about this. There's this software you can download called "skype" which allows you to call other computers with this software, for free, no matter where in the world they are! The quality is even better than cordless phones and cellphones. That means my mom (if she only knew how to use the internet, let alone a computer) could call her sister in the Philippines (if my aunt had a computer at her house, with internet) and it would be absolutely free, and they would sound better than they do calling through the regular phone. We've have it for a month now and it's cool. All you need is a mic for your computer, and some of you have it already built in! You can even "conference call" which means having three or more people on the line, all at once... that's free too! Rich's mom told her brother and daughter down in Florida about it and now they talk to one another for however long they want without worrying about the price of long distance bills. And it's so clear that I can hear him in the kitchen and it seems he's in the room. You can read about and download skype here and here .
Have some telephony fun! And have a wonderful day!

Get On The Poll and Passing Fancies
So as y'all can all see there's a new rolly poll, so git on it.
Before I begin my "serious" discussion on passing fancies I'd just like to say that although it is 8 of clock in the morning. Does the "o" in "o'clock" stand for "of"? anyway... it appears to be only 6 because of the rain and clouds. I was planning on running a few errands early this morning but it seems as if I will have to put it off until a later time. This must be remnants of Jeanne. Okay, so onto my post...
So the other night we were either watching a show or just happened to have the tv on? Or maybe it all played out only in my mind... no matter. For some reason I thought I saw the Grand Canyon before my eyes. I don't mean really but it must have been a commercial or something. Anywho... woo that's a good start!
I saw a glimpse of those movie pans of the expansive Grand Canyon at sunset. The beautiful purples and reds and orange behind the majestic rocky cliffs and such of the site. I thought to myself, "gee I'd like to see that in real life," hmm maybe it was the history channel? I'm still on that... don't you just hate that? I can't think of where I saw it. Going back, "gee I'd like to see that in real life," then I thought to myself, "but not as a tourist". It seems as if my life and many peoples are for that quick view of the world, a tourist's view, a passing fancy. Take a look now before something that isn't so scenic occurs. I'd like to see it with new eyes and be awed by it's wonder but I also want to know more than just how beautiful it is. Put better, I'd like the knowledge of a native with the eye of a tourist. I'd like to see things more than just superficially, I'd like to know how people survive there, how their day to day life is, I'd like to see the not so scenic things but hope that they don't detract from the my view of it. They usually do though. It's like Atlantic City, the boardwalk is beautiful and hectic, the casinos huge and glittering, the ocean restless, all combined draw in tourists, but just on the outskirts there are a few broken down homes, there are people who roam around who've lost everything! And they all exist in this same little world.
I'm not looking for that "temporary high, to satisfy me" (to misquote Stacie Orrico). I want to live there and know what the people and the environment are like and still be able to appreciate the beauty of things around me. But maybe you can't have both, you'll either be an outsider or you're not. I think where I live now is beautiful but I know I don't belong here. And yet I know I was an outsider in the Bronx, where I spent most of my life. And in its griminess, there is a certain beauty to it, and yes I do miss that Boriqua beat thumping through my ceiling from the family upstairs. And yes I did dance to it in the privacy of my own room. Whoops! found out on Urbandictionary.com that it's Boricua. Haha. C! not Q. Just like I tell everyone about my last name. I shoulda known.
One more thing... is my wanting both ways (tourist and native) just trying to satisfy another passing fancy? Oh and this applies to all facets of life, not just travel. Example? Like relationships or significant others, I want to get to know a person good and bad side and still love them for how they are. hmm I guess you can have it both ways. Another example? Micro, like food. To appreciate the deliciousness of it and yet know how it was made.
Don't look down just because it's raining! Have a beautiful, sunshiny day in your heart and mind! heh. I happen to like rain! Time for chicken soup! Speaking of food, I'd like some salmon for dinner... mmm salmon.
Me
Oh this I made up myself so you can pass it on and "c"uote me. "The first taste is never great, it's the fifth that makes you love the first." haha. wooo.

Post 401, the Finality of Things and the Connectivity of Things
This happens to be post number 401! Yay! What do I win? A chance to write more posts! Isn't that absolutely wonderful?
So we watched the Star Wars trilogy this weekend. Good set of movies, I must admit. And as the Ewoks and the rebels danced, (terpsichorean) beneath the shower of fireworks and the orbit of two moons, I was struck with the thought of, "what happens now? what happens the next day? the next year?" I digress here just to say that my least liked part of reading a book is the end when I can no longer continue the world in which these characters live. I've noticed that the books I read have slowly drifted from the "happily ever after" endings of childhood to a more ambiguous cut from their world. The reader is left in the middle of the action sometimes, unable to go along with the rest of the ride. I find this to be much more realistic. What happens when the ball drops on New Years? What happens after that world series ticker tape parade? What happens after the last drop of rain falls? What happens when a loved one dies? Life. The minute ticks past the 12 into the next minute. The sweepers come along and clean the streets. The sun comes out and everything dries up. What happened after 9/11? We said we would never forget and yet during the remembrance I was shocked to find that I had forgotten that a plane had crashed into the pentagon and into Pennsylvania farmland. We remember and celebrate all thinga that are momentous and then we go on with life. It almost makes me feel bleak. But then the celebrations, the devastations make us wake up to the realization of life. After anything happens that affects our lives we just go on and continue with it. There is no "finality" of anything. hmm.
For today's church, my sermon was entitled "The Connectivity of Things".
While watching the hurricane hit Florida I thought to myself, "ya know what, why do I care? That has nothing to do with me, it wouldn't affect me at all." Then I realized everything effects me even in the most miniscule of ways. In a basic, selfish manner I should be concerned of what is happening because the orange groves are devastated, making the price of oranges go up! But in more humanistic ways you have to realize that these are people who need help, who have lost everything, who might one day give you a hand and help you stand up, and even if this never happens... we're all brothers and sisters and we're supposed to be here to help one another up when we stumble.
Although... there are some exceptions... heh. I'm not perfect.
Have a great rest of the week.

Blogs and Other Important Issues of the Day!
Heh, what a great title if I do say so myself! haha Okay, so I have about 8 blogs that I usually check on to see if everyone is doing alright or just to know what the tsismis is. heh. And in those eight there is one recent addition.
This little subsection I'd like to label: "Like Mother Like Daughter". Most of you "faithful readers" consist of friends and family and so we all know about a certain little incident about a certain "aunt" who... hmm. I'll have to make up a scenario. We had an aunt who was obsessed with cleaning her nose with tissue- gosh darn it! The real story is better! But what if? Alright just tell it! (Sorry, fighting with myself). Our "aunt" is obsessed with cleaning the orifices on her face, no matter where she is. So this little incident happened to occur in the work place, during the "graveyard shift". She took out a few ear swabs and proceeded to clean them (her ears, that is), but accidentally went too deep into one and in one fell swoop managed to puncture her eardrum and lose her equilibrium and... fell in one swoop. heh. I wasn't laughing at the incident, but at my use of word-age. Well come to find out, I read her daughter's blog and she does the same thing! It's survival of the fittest playing out right in front of us!
Then there's two blogs I call "Ew and ewwer". It's funny because I really have no reason to read their blogs, they're almost like a friend of a friend, or more like an ex and his new girl... too much of a hint for ya? Why "ew"? and why do I continue to read it? Well okay, her blog isn't terribly "ewwy" but when I think of her and him together... well that's the result. I find it mildly gross that they are so into material goods and who gave what to whom and how much she loves him because of the new... earrings he bought her. In this case you can "buy me love". Why don't I just stop reading? I'm interested in seeing the progression of a new relationship, and I already know a few things about one of them and I've read it for so long now that I feel as if I'm invested in something. What that "something" is, I really cannot say. I read it and say, hmm... did Rich and I go through all that the first year of our relationship? Obviously not, but they keep hanging on. They've got the money for it, I guess.
Then there's Leen's blog, which I find a source of constant amusement... sorry Arlyne. I know how much you go through emotionally. I would sit you down and tell you but it probably would only become a negative in your eyes and you'd write something like, "I don't care that the world is against us! I'm gonna still keep on loving you! I miss you so much! etc. etc." Besides, I figured you're old enough to see yourself through... hmm. I wonder at what age you would be for me to stop seeing you as a 12 year old? P.S. can anyone give me Arlyne's new blog address? haha. Ya know I love ya kid. Besides... laughter is the best medicine! heh. Joking! You're life is no joke!
Few random thoughts before I go... I gotta go scoop Soot's litter. heh. hmm. Is that a showing of humble-ance? HUMILITY! that's the word. I like "humblance" better anyway. Figure it out yourselves. Are the Brits familiar with the Statue of Liberty? Hmm, not as well as we Americans are. Oh and for all those die hard Bush supporters... you folks better take a good look at what God is doing to Florida!! And He's gonna keep it up until the day of the election! One more mistake like that...! Those Floridians don't have a chance. This was brought to you by God, He told me to pass it on. heh. I love you! Peace! (That's from God too).
haha.
Me.
P.S. Alright alright! You people who can't hold with surprises! Geez, stop hounding me. I'm gonna put up a new layout! OK?? Damn n!99a! haha. Oh and g-damn my stupidity in html. But thank Him for knowledgable boyfriends who can help me with it. I'm gonna start referring to him as "the one". eh. maybe not. He'll just be Rich.

Weight A Minute
That is it! When I can't even button and zip up jeans that I used to be able to take off without unbuttoning and unzipping, just slidin' 'em down, it is time for a drastic diet! Rich looked on as I struggled to put them on and just stood there shaking his head sadly... well!! I try not to have a man dictate how I treat myself, but when my "I'm bloated, it's that time of the month" lie isn't even working on me then it's time! God, I gotta get my fat ass on a treadmill again, and watch all my food intake. Even my mom commented when I went home that I looked a little "chubby". Ugh! Okay... so gotta go plan my exercise and meals and eat my heart out. heh. haha. Wish me luck!
Have a wonderfully satisfying day!
Me.
p.s. testing something new!

In A While Crocodile
So I gotta confess that the reason for my lack of posts has been "Tropico" which I have been playing like a fiend. It's really just AOE without the warring and tactics. Just you, your people and your island. I love it. I think I've gone insane...
In other news... yah had a great time during my birthday and the day after and the day after that. Birthday (Friday) was spent here, in Mass. with Rich and his mom. You know, it was the typical (heh) opening of presents, playing Tropico, going out to a restaurant, stopping for some yummy pastries (for later) at a bakery, and grabbing a delicious scoop of Cookie Minster ice cream at the nearby Cold Stone Creamery. Then it was to NY to hang out with my family. Lovely time had by all. I got money and some clothes and a new, Panasonic system, from which I am listening to Howard Stern as I type this... heh It's so neat!
Oh yeah, I got to see Mike's campus! Boy was it chilly walking around. It wasn't bad though, a nice view of the mountains. Which were those? Catskills? Peekskills? Some kind of "kill" I think. Is that all part of the Adirondack Mountains? Oh wait. I got it! Surrounded by the Shawangunk Mountains, nestled in the Hudson River Valley. (It's close to the Catskills). The whole area is my kinda place. God the chill in the air, the beautiful green mountains, the local people with their apple orchards and apple picking and in the near future "pumpkin pickin'". The smell of pine trees and pine needles getting caught in your hair. On campus some trees had already started to turn their beautiful hues, from green with veins of red to flaming red and orange. I think I would choose to live around there if I could.
I guess that's how I pictured New England to be, but I missed it by a few hundred miles. I'm nearer the coast than the mountains. Oh well. Maybe I'll drive up to picturesque Vermont and live there. heh. But then I think I would get a nostalgia for the ocean. I had some unforgettable moments in those last few days of summer, before class starts and it's too cold to go sun bathing on the beach. Early mornings, huddling for warmth with Rich, walking Nantasket, watching the sun rise over the ocean, grabbing a bagel and orange juice, watching the quiet, empty beach and the road come to a bustle, filling up with dog walkers and retirees, getting one last romp before heading south.
The only place I have ever been that's had both mountains and ocean was in Cagayan de Oro, Phils. The town I spent 4 years of early childhood in. Strange how I remember so much of what was around me. I remember waking up, our house facing the mountain ranges of Bukidnon and going just a few houses down and finding myself at a beach by the sea. I think it's because of this that I'm always trying to find something that suits both my longing for the looming mountains and the salty air of the sea. Perhaps Alaska? Haha.
By the way, Cagayan de Oro city has come to mean "The City of Golden Friendship". But I think it used to mean "river of gold", back in the days when they found gold in the rivers... "kagay" meaning river. However they made the change when they saw how welcoming the peoples were.
By the way, yes! today is the day for new polls. I really do apologize for that. Also Julie I'll send you your letter pretty soon!
Ok I gotta go take a shower! eww.
Have a wonderful, beautiful day everyone!
Me.
Oh happy happy belated "Autumn" everyone. Say that with a NY accent! (Private joke).

I Know I Know
Yes I promised you all that I would post a new poll and yet I haven't delivered! I have to take a picture first... you'll see! For now, please accept my apologies. I may post tomorrow and then I may not... for on the morrow I shall turn one score and 4 years. Do forgive me I've been affected by the Revolutionary war documentary on the History Channel. Though why I write with an affected accent when no one speaks with one is a mystery. haha. Alrighty I gotta run. Wish me "Many Happy Returns" and I will call it a night.
It's a night!

Litter Box, Drawings, Lists
The above first thing in the lineup of the title is really just a reminder to myself of what I have failed to act upon and is now attacking my ol' factory (olfactory) (haha). Meaning Soot-the-cat has left a stink in it and I must now abolish all stinks! Well can't abolish all of them, can we Rich? heh. Just kidding. Wait, I meant just kidding on the joke, I really can't abolish the stink.
Second up is a reminder that I must draw today and also that I want you all to join doodlebug! The motto being, the more you know the more popular your drawings. heh. I mean, if I know you it's very difficult to give you less than a 5-6. And I hope it would be the same for me... ?
Poor Soot still has fleas. It's that terrible dog. I found a dead one on her yesterday and then we combed her some more and found a live one! Sick!
That is all the news for now. Except that Mike gets to go home for his birthday (tomorrow) and stay til Sunday because of Roshashana.
Speaking of abolishing stinks... I better go take a shower now... after I change Soot's litter of course.
Me.

Doodle-icious
Here's a cool site Rich found and now he and I are on it doodling away our lives. heh. It's doodlebug. You can doodle and post it and have everyone score it. You can vote on others' drawings. You can enter contests and such. If the administrators like what they see they give out stars. It's kinda hard to doodle with my laptop mouse but I would guess it's better than a wiggly-wobbly optical ball mouse that Rich has, but his pics look good so I dunno. My next doodle will be of Soot... maybe not. heh. okay I gotta head out.
By the way, weekend was good. Didn't really do anything but doodle. hehe.
Have a great day everyone!
Me.
Oh p.s.! New poll coming soon! Sorry about that all. It's been up for weeks now hasn't it? I'm gonna try something new for the next poll. k.

Movie Update
Oh dear, I do think I'm just getting worse and worse with these titles...
Last night we saw a movie called "Rabbit Proof Fence". It was a good movie. It was based on a true story of aborigines in Australia.
Eh I don't feel like writing about it. heh. Sorry, will post more about it later. I am just a bit sleepy tired right now.

Cut and Style
I keep forgetting to mention that about a week ago I got my hair chopped off. It's now just above my shoulders. I think it looks nice, there's no style to it. Sometimes when I take a shower too early in the morning and I'm not fully awake I'll forget that it's no longer long and will fill my hand up with shampoo only to realize that it's too much for the short quantity of hair I now own. (Like this morning)... Yeah it's nice, but mom thinks I cut it too short. heh. Funny enough she used to advocate cutting my hair and complained that it was too long.
In a week I will be 24?? Ahh It's so funny and scary because next year at this time I will embark upon my mid-20's!!! and I don't feel a day over 21. hehe. Can you imagine that I met Rich when he was 21 and now he's almost 29? Oh gosh! Everyone just gets older and older! I love my birthday though. I want great presents from everyone!! heh. Just kidding. Just good presents. haha. Have a great day everyone!!

Castle Island and Bruce Lee
This was taken at Castle Island, in South Boston. I took it about two or three weeks ago but I just forgot to upload it and post it here. Isn't it neat? It's just graffiti on the fort's side. We decided to go to Castle Island because someone told me about it and then coincidentally I saw a report on the news that they have the best hot dogs in Boston (or was it one of the top 3?). So we went, Rich with his usual apprehensions and me dreaming of great hot dogs. We get there and it was lovely. We walked around, no castles but a fort surrounded on one side by ocean. Across the way was Logan airport and as we walked around and around we constantly had to raise our voices as the jets flew overhead, but other than that we had a good time. By the way, tried their hot dogs and fries and found that it didn't compare to our favored boar's head brand. To each his own. It was a great time had by all, just a tad busy for our taste, but then it would be scary if it wasn't busy. heh. Yeah it was great. Have a wonderful, not too muggy night!

Freckles!!!
Hi all! I had a good Saturday (yesterday). My family came up to see me. They picked me up and dropped off some much needed supplies, like tuna, garlic, contact lens solution, overnights, and sleepwear. Stuff I can never ever find here. heh, that was meant sarcastically. Hey if it's free then it must be good! So we stopped by the mall, picked up some food and headed to a park to have an impromptu picnic. It was nice. Things missing to make it perfecto? Chips, grill with charcoal, tons of soda, a badminton/volleyball net, barbecue filipino style (meaning a lot of kabobs) and Filipinos. heh. But I caught a whiff off the charcoal grill the people next to us had started up and the food was decent and there were plenty of nice people around to make it sweet... At the mall, while waiting for food my mom looks up into my face and says, "what's all that stuff on your face?" I said, "these???! My freckles!!!" Oh my god! Ever since I got here I've started getting them. My mom claims it's all the chicken I eat. Chicken???!! Haha. I (and dad agrees) said it's the sun of Massachusetts. Terrible terrible sun! I swear we're right under a hole in the ozone. It's so bad. Haha. I just remember my dream with Lovely and how I was surprised she had freckles on her face. heh. So we had lots of laughs and all. Next time I'll ask them to stay a little longer.
By the way, thanks to Mike for bearing gifts! Heh. I'll wear the SUNY New Paltz shirt! I really appreciated the card and so forth. I think the posters were great too! heh. Oh and my cat was sleeping when I placed her new mouse by the fan on the floor, near the shadows. Yes! Every chance I get I try to spook my cat with red-eyed mice. I wanted to see what she would do. So later on, when she finally heard I was home she came in. But Rich and I were talking and almost missed it but then I heard a squeak and I looked over and saw her standing by the door, the mouse no longer by the fan. Looking at her further I saw that there was a bigger piece of gray beside her and realized she has standing on it. haha. Later she took it over to the corner and started pawing and throwing it up in the air. Then she looked like she was dancing with it, or what we call "big bear", where she gets up on her hind legs and boxes it in the air. Hahaha. She really enjoyed it! Thanks! She says, "meow Mike". Haha. You're an uncle to a cat.
I have to run! Have a great day all. Sermon Sunday too. Peace be with you.

Cart Man and Cart Cat
Once Rich had finished the cart we threw some bedding and her grey blanket inside to make it cozy for her. I even sprinkled some catnip for her. Then we grabbed her and threw her in. Here are some pics of the lovely handmade catcart and of the one and only Victoria Soot Cat within. Anyone interested in having their own handmade cart please contact me here. It's $80 (bedding not included). Also shipping and handling not included. heh.
Outside on the lawn.
Close-up
Have fun looking. By the way, we're not sure that she enjoyed it too much, she "browwed" at times. But then she did sit a bit and looked around. heh. We'll get her used to it.

Teeter-Totter
Hey all, I realized I'm not writing for me anymore but for an audience. I dunno if I like it or hate it. Can't write everything I want to and yet it makes me stop and think of what I'm going to say, make it funny or melodramatic... catering. Well I have a real journal for the other thoughts, but don't worry, they're not deep or anything, same ditzy me writing them. Heh. Probably same things I write in here. Looking through it I realized it's just for to-do lists. Oh wait, that's my to-do journal. heh. Got one for every need.
So what's the sense of my heading if I don't write anything to do with it? Okay, here goes. I'm hateful towards all the local movie theaters for not showing "Hero" with Jet Li. I wanted to see it for a long time only to see they don't have it and I can't get it on ebay. Rich and I are planning a strike from the one we go to all the time. But what's the point? We don't even buy anything when we're in there. It's not like we're major dealers in their inside economy. Like I told him the other day they cater to children and will show kids movies because moms and kids the biggest spenders on their popcorn and stuff.
Oh but I'm so happy to receive a whopping 6 page letter from Julie! heh. I got it yesterday after several failed trips to find parking at the post office. The p.o. got me p.o.'d. Heh. haha. But when I went inside I found it there waiting for me and as my hand reached into the little cubicle and took hold of it I saw that it was nice and fat! Haha. I love it.
I hate the fact that the summer's over but I love the fact that my birthday's around the corner. Isn't it strange? I'm really someone born in the summer? Fall doesn't begin til September 23, give or take a day. And fall is one of the best seasons too! But what's good is everyone associates my birthday with fall. One of Rich's gifts came for me yesterday. heh. Yay! He's gonna wrap it. I hope... haha. That's a hint!
Oh I had this dream that I was at our christmas party? or some kinda big gathering, not in a house and I'm at this table with people I don't know when in walks Lovely. No, that's her nickname. She was dressed in a white pantsuit and she walks over to my table and starts chatting with me! I barely know her. heh. But she leans in and I realize she has freckles all over her face and she's jabbering on. That's all I remember. I can't believe I had a dream with her in it. I hope she doesn't die. She was all glow-y in her white suit. Kind of an aura around her.
I hate to think that Soot still has fleas. She was itching herself this morning and I will have to give her brushings.
I love the fact that Rich is almost done with her cat carrier! I will take pics of it and post it. He should be done today! Yay. Haha. We had planned that we would have it done by the beginning of summer but look! He started a few days ago and is almost done with it. Look at all the procrastination! And we had all the lumber for it at the beginning of the summer. I must say it looks fabulous. Rich as a carpenter? Building stuff is such a turn on. heh. Oh if you're all can't wait for a picture check this website, we modeled it after this.
hahaha. Just kidding.
Okay I'll leave it there! It's late. Have a grrreaat!! day. Don't let a hurrican hit you.

Quickie
Sootie finally got the fleas. It was a case of the inevitable. Like having a house full of children and one getting the chicken pox. It was only a matter of time before the rest of them got it no matter how hard you try to keep them apart. I was very mad. We had seen her scratching at herself and we flea combed her but nothing appeared, but the next morning as I was cleaning out her flea comb I noticed some black flecks in it and then upon closer examination I saw three fleas. I think two of them jumped right on me, the other one I placed into a ziplock container to show Rich. His mom finally bought some Advantage flea medication and so we had to administer a dosage on the scruff of her neck, into the skin. Let me tell you! She sure didn't like that! Rich ended up getting a gash on his wrist, making him look like a model for a failed suicide attempt. (It was from her back claws as she tried to scramble outta our reach).
One other thing. Finally saw Passion of the Christ this evening. hmm I'm still shaken from the violence. Other than that, I don't think I would see it again. I don't know what else to say. I still have to digest it all. Perhaps someone else will post their input.
Have a good night all.
